Hundreds of local job opportunities at #CareersKilkenny this Christmas

Kilkenny County Council, through its Local Enterprise Office, is staging an extensive careers event showcasing the hundreds of jobs on offer in leading companies located across the city and county in Kilkenny’s Medieval Mile Museum on December 30th this year.

A range of local businesses in the Life Sciences and Financial Services sectors will be in attendance including Tirlán, State Street, CluneTech, Loanitt, VHI, Bank of Ireland, UPMC, Asgard Cleanroom Solutions and CF Pharma.

Companies who will attend the event are seeking to fill in the region of hundreds of positions across the Life Sciences and Financial Services sectors and we expect that number to increase between now and December 30th

‘Kilkenny County Council through initiatives such CareersKilkenny and InvestKilkenny are actively working to promote Kilkenny as a great place to live and work’, according to Cathaoirleach, Cllr. Pat Fitzpatrick, ‘these initiatives are aimed at Kilkenny people who are living and working elsewhere who harbour an ambition to return home to live and work.’

‘#careerskilkenny is all about promoting the high-quality jobs currently on offer within the Life Sciences and Financial Services sectors whilst also highlighting Kilkenny as a great place to live and work’ according to Aileen McGrath, Acting Head of Enterprise, Local Enterprise Office, Kilkenny County Council.

The Christmas period was chosen to stage the event as it is the time of year when thousands of people converge on Kilkenny with many considering a return to Kilkenny either now or at a future date, if only the right career opportunity was to present itself.  #careerskilkenny aims to showcase the volume of high-quality jobs available in Kilkenny city and county both now and in the future, and highlight to attendees the possibilities that Kilkenny offers as both a location to live and work.

The event will offer attendees a chance to engage directly with participating employers. Representatives from each participating business will be on hand to actively answer queries about the jobs available in their company.  Representatives from the Local Enterprise Office and Kilkenny County Council will also be on hand to ensure attendees on the day have every opportunity to meet employers, make connections and access company information through #careerskilkenny

It is an exciting time for those seeking new career opportunities according to Kilkenny County Council. Along with many new high quality job opportunities on offer now and in the future, Kilkenny County Council says that it is confident that the investment in infrastructure, housing and schools will further enhance Kilkenny’s credentials as one of the best places to live and work in the country.

Sean McKeown, Interim Chief Executive for Kilkenny County Council highlights ‘Over 400 new employment opportunities are due to be announced when the new State Street building, now under development in the Kilkenny Business & Technology Park, Loughboy, Kilkenny, is operational in September 2023 and Abbott predicts an employment total of over 800 when they are operational in early 2024. These amazing professional career opportunities are just some of the many that are available in Kilkenny.’
